Turn on your Virgin, in-flight Pay TV

Virgin airlines Australia has announced that it will be introducing pay TV viewing on domestic flights. It’s believed there will be 24 channels, including news, music, sport and children’s entertainment. Screens will be installed into the back of the headrest of its planes. The pricing is believed to be between $5 – $10 AUS.
The positive to this is you can watch live news, sports etc. The disadvantage is the view is paying for it.

I believe they would have more eyeballs on screens if they could incorporate advertising/marketing into this viewing model. I know that I continually go on about customer paying for content, but I do believe that the marketing industry, have such a wealth of advertising space that they aren’t using. Instead the consumers are being hit in the pocket and therefore the amount of viewers is dramatically less than if these services were free.
