Fuel Up Your TV Viewing

in General/International Media/Media Technology

Will we get to a point where no matter where we turn media will be infront of us. A Michigan based company has been trialing small screens in the fuel pumps. This show news, weather, traffic reports and the usual advertising. Walt Disney’s, ABC network will sell ads and produce the content for the screens. The videos have been based around the time people are fueling up. About 4 minutes is the length of the clips shown on the screen. In the near future it is hoped that another 100 fuel stations in the Dallas, Houston and Atlanta areas will have screens installed.

CBS Corp. recently signed a contract as a programming partner with a company that has video screens installed in 1,300 U.S. supermarkets. I have also seen screens fitted into the hand driers in the mens toilet. Where can we put a screen that would be taking it too far?
