A band by the name of 8mm has produced their own music video simple using a mobile phone and iMovie. Many would say that this isn’t exciting at all. What I find fascinating is that video on phone has got to a point where people aren’t just using it to take videos of their friends doing stupid stunts, but it is being used as a broadcast recording tool.
We have seen this recently with broadcast News asking for people to email or MMS videos of events to them, so they can use it for a story.
The video can be now seen on YouTube. Check out their previous videos, which have been professional shot. For these guys I don’t think it wasn’t a case of budget, rather just a change in the medium.
