Whilst reading the article in “YouTube, saved by the Bell” I came across and interesting article by Mark Cuban. He believed that YouTube would have many law suits against them soon. He also spoke about, if record companies do force YouTube to take down any videos with their music. How will they do this?
It will require YouTube to go through each video individually.
Just under a month later, Cuban adds another entry “I was wrong”. He writes that “The more I read and the more I thought about it since the Google/Youtube deal, I realize that is the exact opposite of what should happen and probably will happen.”
He believes that the record industries will go after the imitators first, the guys with no money. Once they have successfully taken these sites down. They will then have a stronger case against YouTube, the company now owned by Google, that has the money to fight.
A few weeks after posting “I was wrong” another interesting article appeared in Cuban’s blog, “Some Intimate details on the Google YouTube deal”. This article was originally posted on the Pho List. Make sure you read this article, which gives some insight into what has and now could happen now that Google has purchased YouTube.
