YouTube now has a mobile friendly 3G website, http://m.youtube.com is a xHTML site optimize for the mobile phones. Although this has been live for sometime it has been pushed to the side due to the media hype of the YouTube and Apple partnership with both Apple TV and speculation as to whether or not YouTube would be available with the iPhone.
Well yesterday it was announced that the YouTube would in fact be available on the iPhone. No that doesn’t mean that flash is built into the iPhone. It means YouTube are recoding their library of videos into Apple’s H264 codec.
“Over 10,000 videos will be available on June 29, and YouTube will be adding more each week until their full catalog of videos is available in the H.264 format this fall.”
